Marilyn Monroe did not ever in her lifetime have 6 toes on either foot. Unfortunately, the six toe rumor has spread and been taken as truth by so many. Even Ripley's Believe It Or Not has reported that Marilyn Monroe had six toes. A myth that Marilyn Monroe was born with six toes resulted from the publication of photographs taken by the photographer Joseph Jasgur in 23 March 1946, when again took Norma Jeane to Zuma Beach for more photos. The pictures were published in the book The Birth of Marilyn: The Lost Photographs of Norma Jean (1991) by Jasgur and Jeannie Sakol. Joseph explained in his book: "It wasn't until 41 years later when Joseph Jasgur was alone in his darkroom making prints of that day's excursion that he noticed something odd about Normal Jean's left foot. She had six toes. A surprising discovery, he thought, but not earth-shaking. He had heard rumours of plastic surgery on her foot as well as her nose and chin, but he notes, "It's none of my business." Two of the pictures can be interpreted as showing six toes, although they can also be explained as tricks of the light. Since there is no corroborating evidence from other photographs or written records, the story is commonly dismissed as an urban legend.
