Traveling to Great Wall China
Great Wall of China is one of the Seven Wonders of the world. I suppose you’ve all heard of “The Great Wall of China” at some point in time, perhaps when I was at school or when you were young. Most camera phones have Internet access, so you can check immediately!
Did you know that The Great Wall of China is not a continuous strip of wall? This is a collection of walls continues along the hills to the south end of the plains of Mongolia. 221-206 was built in BEC mud and rocks, supported by wooden frames to prevent the nomads of Mongolia to enter the Chinese territory.
After a while some changes and adjustments were made to the wall. But the huge construction of wall began during the dynasty of “Ming” back in 1388-1644 CE. The Ming wall built after the wall base, as about 15 feet to 30 feet, which would mean about 4.6 to 9.1 meters and height of the wall was built to 25 feet, which is 7, 6 meters and the top was about 9-12 meters wide which would be about 2.7 to 3.7 meters. It was wide enough for wagons and troops of soldiers to leave. At regular intervals, on the wall were watchtowers and guards.
The wall was soon abandoned. Why?
Soon reached the western areas of China from the 17th century. Then, around the world began to hear about “The Great Wall of China.” It was soon rebuilt and restored the walls of China and has made a world heritage. Even today there are people who travel around the world to visit the Great Wall in China.
